Dogs...center of attention

I don't know about yours, but mine has so much personality. Thought I'd share a picture of Payton at the baseball game....

She wasn't the center of attention at the moment, so she rolled onto her back and just stared at me. Tonight at Gman's game, she had about five little kids petting her and she just loved it. Payton is part pitbull and can scare some people off. It's frustrating that I have to reassure people that I wouldn't have her at a baseball game around lots of people if she was aggressive...I understand the stereotype, but I don't think I fit that image of a person who would train her animal to attack someone....

Baseball...ugh!

I love baseball...don't get me wrong! I just don't love baseball six days a week! I have had a post forming in my head every single day, but do not have time to sit down and write it out. We have accepted an offer on the house, but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch because NOTHING EVER GOES SMOOTHLY FOR US! My stepbrother got married last weekend and it was beautiful. I have not gotten ANY work done at one of my schools and it is starting to make me crazy, but here I am posting on my blog. Better get to it, but thought I'd share some pics from baseball...B's game tonight, Gman's tomorrow....

Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

I have not had time to sit down and blog for two weeks!!!! Believe me, I've been keeping up on yours as I can type one in and have time to read a post between classes, but not time to sit and write my own. I have two words for you, HOUSE and BASEBALL.

This is very scary for me, but two weeks ago my man and I decided to put our house up for sale. This is MY first house. The house where we really became a family. We have been doing little things here and there to get it ready. My man worked his tail off opening and cleaning the pool, putting up new ceiling tiles, installing a ceiling fan, and finishing the trim in the kitchen. All I really had to do was clean. It's times like this that I wonder why I don't take time to clean like this more often! The sign went in the yard Tuesday...it's such a crazy time. Do we look at houses that we like when we don't know what will happen with our house? Our realtor is VERY positive. She has had lots of inquiries about our house already.
We have been living baseball for about a month, but since May 1 I think we might as well sleep at the ballpark, too. Tonight was actually our first night in two weeks without any practices or games! B has had 2 games and won them both. He is a different kid this year. Last year he had a poor attitude and refused to play unless his father was in the stands. This year, he hustles and even made a double play in the first inning of the first game. I just want him to get a hit now to build his confidence even more. Gman had his first game last night. I'm not crazy about his coach this year. He's not really good with the kids. When they do something wrong, he stands there and says, "what did I tell ya?" instead of going over and showing them how to do it. They won 18-2 and he told them they needed to play harder next time! I don't care if my child wins, just want him to learn something and show growth. I think I'm going to have to bite my tongue alot this season!
This is a long post, but I'll wrap up with some pictures for Discovery Depot, the children's museum in town. Mary and I snuck out with Cole Pickles, Reester, and Gman while the men did some work last weekend. We were even able to head to some shops and check out the farmer's market.

He is RISEN!

I wanted to post about my Savior today. I wanted to tell everyone how grateful I am that he would die for me and tell about all the wonderous ways he has worked in my life..........

HOWEVER.......the puppetmaster dropped off the kids, stormed out the door, and then text me a threatening message. I am now saying the Serenity prayer over and over.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking as he did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen. --Reinhold Niebuhr

I will not stoop to her level, but it is very difficult! A good friend once told me to feel blessed that the Lord finds me worthy of tests. I am grateful for all that he has given me and the tests are so much easier with him by my side!

I did enjoy a great day with my family. I had to say goodbye to my brother who heads to Texas tomorrow and then Iraq. I hope everyone feels the Lord working in their lives and had a blessed Easter with their loved ones!

Spoken like a true librarian...

Have you read Twilight? If not, go get it now! I did not understand what all the craziness was about this summer when the fourth book came out. When the movie came out, shows were sold out. A friend lent me her copy at the beginning of spring break and now I understand.

Stephenie Meyer has written this book in a way that just leaves you hanging on, craving more (in fact, I sat and read the majority of this book for four hours straight). The sexual tension is so thick it's surprising because there is NO sex in this book. I found myself cheering for Bella and Edward early on in the plot.

Finished the book, thought I'd rent the movie. I was SOOOOOO disappointed and lost interested about 20 minutes into it. I hung in there and liked the drama and special effects at the end, but it doesn't do the book justice at all!
I can't wait to get my hands on New Moon!

Moral: Books will always be better than the movies!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my wonderful mother's birthday! I won't give away her age, but she is absolutely my rock (next to my man that is). My mom is always there for me, whether it's to listen to me or babysit the boys for me. She has become an instant grandmother and excels at it beautifully. She came immediately to my house when she heard I lost the baby, but yet left as soon my man came home 10 minutes later to give us the space we needed. I probably talk to her five times a day. I laugh when she lives a mile away, but yet skypes me on the computer. Happy birthday, mom! We all love you!
